The BioAI Dresden initiative is a collaborative effort among the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, the Max Planck Society, and TUD Dresden University of Technology, with the support of the Free State of Saxony. Collectively, these entities have pledged over 40 million euros, with Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation contributing 20 million euros over ten years.

BioAI Dresden will work closely with the AITHYRA Institute in Vienna and other renowned institutions like the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and the University of Oxford. The Max Planck Society has been a prominent figure in AI research, ranked 7th by Nature among rising institutions. President Patrick Cramer emphasized the importance of academic research in AI, highlighting that it can address critical questions overlooked by profit-driven companies.
