On May 2nd, the Hochschule Neu-Ulm (HNU) inaugurated a new AI Transfer Plus Regional Center in Leipheim, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into local enterprises. The event was graced by Dr. Fabian Mehring, Bavaria's State Minister for Digital Affairs.

During the opening ceremony at the Technologietransferzentrum (TTZ) Leipheim, Dr. Fabian Mehring emphasized the potential of AI for Bavaria's middle-sized businesses. The event featured presentations by HNU President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser and Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune.
Participation of Local Businesses
Three companies, including Schwarzer Reise- und Verkehrsbüro, SWMP Steuerberatungsgesellschaft, and Ulrich Reitenberger Bau GmbH, are already part of the program, utilizing AI to streamline processes amid workforce challenges.
Role of the AI-Regional Centers
The initiative, coordinated by the AppliedAI Initiative GmbH, involves eight AI-Regional Centers in Bavaria, focusing on building AI strategies and applications over a nine-month period. Find more details here.
