Weinheim Hosts the Urban Innovation Hub Pop-up
From October 22 to 24, 2024, Weinheim welcomes the Urban Innovation Hub Pop-up at the Weinheim Galerie. This event allows local businesses to explore and engage with cutting-edge digital services and technologies, ranging from virtual and augmented reality to artificial intelligence (AI).
Empowering Local Businesses with AI and Digital Solutions
The Urban Innovation Hub is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the downtown area, particularly in the retail and hospitality sectors, by implementing digital solutions and innovative business models. Supported by the Competence Center Smart Services, the initiative is backed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg.
Key Participants and Exhibitions
The Pop-up is organized by the Competence Center Smart Services in collaboration with partners such as the Hochschule Konstanz Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung (HTWG) and the University of Siegen. The exhibition is open to the public and includes workshops, tours, and networking events, offering a hands-on experience with technologies like the Microsoft HoloLens.

Dr. Patrick Rapp, Secretary of State from the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism, visited the lab on October 21, underscoring the importance of leveraging innovative technologies and business models to overcome challenges faced by small businesses. The government aims to open new perspectives for service industries through initiatives like these.
